Mohammad Baqir Khorramshad, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in an interview with IQNA, mentioning the approval of the “International Award of Imam Khomeini” in the recent session of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and said: “The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization delivered a plan titled “International Award of Imam Khomeini ” to the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution about a year ago.”
He continued: “The process of approving this award were in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution until last night, January 31st, it was approved in the main session of the Council and Islamic Culture and Relations Organization was selected for its execution.”
Khorramshad pointed out the characteristics of the nominees for receiving this international award and said: “People who have done an activity based on Imam Khomeini’s goals in the fields of studies, researches and … are nominated to receive this international award.”
The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, pointed to seven axis for the activities in the draft of this plan and said: “Anti-imperialism, supporting the oppressed and dispossessed, the formation and development of Islamic civilization and … which are among Imam Khomeini’s goals for founding the Islamic revolution are the measures.”
He added: “Some of the institutes and organizations and individuals and legal persons will have the permission to announce active persons in the filed of understanding Imam Khomeini. After these persons are announced and they are reviewed in the board which their secretariat is at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the ones who gain the most points will receive the International Imam Khomeini Award.”
The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization clarified: “After we review all the ideas of the council members the regulations will enter the final plan and then we will deliver it to the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.”
Khorramshad counted financial prizes, certificates of honor, statuette and … among the Imam Khomeini’s International Award and in the level of international and based on the values and position of the great leader of the Islamic revolution, he added: “We have predicted a biannual ceremony for this award.”
He depended the beginning of awarding this prize to the sessions of the council and remarked that two ceremonies of Imam Khomeini’s demise or the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran are selected for awarding this prize and that next year the first ceremony will occur.
