Nasrallah’s daughter says Israeli assassinations have strengthened resistance

The daughter of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, says Israel’s assassinations of senior figures will fail to weaken the resistance axis.

“The criminal Zionists shouldn’t think that killing resistance leaders will weaken the resistance or open a door for them to occupy our land or normalize ties,” Zainab Nasrallah told a massive rally held in Tehran Friday to mark the International Quds Day.

“We believe in the divine promise of victory, just as Sayyed [Nasrallah] has promised us victories, and we will certainly be victorious,” Zainab stressed.

Quds Day is an annual, international day held every year on the last Friday of Ramadan to express support for Palestine and oppose the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, established Quds Day in 1979 shortly after the Islamic Revolution in Iran to show solidarity with Palestinians. It has since become a symbol of resistance.

‘Resistance against Israel to persist’

During an event held in Qom on Thursday to commemorate resistance figures, Zainab stressed that the assassination of resistance leaders and senior commanders has “strengthened” the resistance front.

Israel, she said, aimed to destroy the resistance with its assassination of Nasrallah, but "these martyrdoms will strengthen and solidify the foundations of the resistance front.”

Zainab stressed that the Lebanese people are ready to be martyred on the path of resistance until victory is achieved and al-Quds is liberated from the Israeli occupation.

“Today, the world recognizes the Lebanese people as a resilient nation,” she said. “Friends and enemies must know that despite all hardships and the numerous calamities, this path is unstoppable.”

Nasrallah was assassinated in Israel’s bombardment of southern Beirut on September 27, 2024. Using 85 tons of explosives, Israeli jets leveled six residential buildings in Dahiyeh, following a week-long bombing campaign that hit many areas from southern Lebanon to Beirut.
