In an Instagram post, grandson of Imam Khomeini congratulated heavyweight powerlifting champion who smashed three world records and won the gold medal at the Rio Paralympics.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini also hailed Rahman’s coach and other individuals who played decisive role in his success.
The 28-year-old Iranian paralympian finally benched weight of 305 kilograms to smash his own world record of 296 kilograms.
Rahman, who was representing Iran for the second time at the Paralympics, handing Iran their sixth gold medal of the Paralympics Games.
It is worthy to mention that Iran made significant progress in several fields including sports following the victory of the Islamic revolution under leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979.
